People I Would Like to Meet:I am here to make friends with other women of faith.  I have recently given my life back to God.  I did so after becoming disabled, and unable to work.  Waiting for disability, I literally lost all that I owned, and worked so hard for.  My home, my car, my furniture, everything that did not fit into the 3 small suitcases that I brought with me to Sweden.  I put my life in God's wonderful hands, and have since rebuilt my life.  I hate living half a world away from my two grown sons, and my two small grandsons, but I have no doubt that there is a reason God put me here, and He only knows what that is.  Now, I wait to find His purpose, in His time.  RIC
Interests:I love animals, plants, nature.  I am blessed with an electric wheelchair that allows me to travel through typical natural settings here in Sweden.  I am forever in awe of The Lord's work.  I also love to take pictures, usually of interesting people, places, and even fun signs that I find here in Stockholm.RIC
Favorite Music:I am stuck in the late 70's early 80's as far as music goes.  I love Chicago, Foreigner, Styx, and George Michael before and after Wham!  So I guess classic rock.RIC
Favorite Books:Anything by Jane Austin.  Roald Dahl is fascinating too!  I do read the Bible daily of course, but I guess being here at this website, that is a given. smiley-innocent RIC
Heroes:All police and firemen.  The military working so hard to keep us safe.  My oldest son, who is proving to be such a great father...RIC
My Philosophy on God:I believe that God always has been and always will be.  I believe that Jesus is God's son and our Savior.  I believe that if given the opportunity by us, God will guide our lives.  I believe that we must ask Him to do that however.  I do not believe that God knows what everyone will do before they do it, that is why He gave us free will.  He did not put us here as His puppets, but gave us the opportunity to know Him, and it is up to us to know and love Him, and help others to find Him by living by His good standards.RIC
My Philosophy on What Happens After I Die:It is not my philosophy, it is written in the Bible.  To be absent from this body is to be present with The Lord.  I know that I will be with my God and Savior in heaven when I die.RIC
My Philosophy on Why I Exist:I believe that I exist here to give my soul a chance to choose God and  His Word.RIC

Hi! I am so happy that you responed! It felt really good hearing from you. It also feels great that you put so much faith in God after you lost everything. Our problems are so small...although I am still young I belive I've had my share of tests. Recently I was "disqualified" from a job position...it felt so horrible. I kept asking, how can they judge me like that? Also, my brother was told his eyesight was very bad and could not pursue being a pilot (he's in the Naval Academy)...however, in the last few weeks Mike was able to go through eye surgery which *might* enable him to become a pilot after all! yay! I would like to see some of the photos you have taken of Sweeden as I have never been there. I heard it's very beautiful! Sometimes I want to do things my way and unfortunately avoid God in the process. For example, when I am sad (which tends to be a lot) I sit there and pathetically cry instead of turning to the word. However, it would be nice to actually have a shoulder to lean on but to this day all the churches I have gone to have been fake and too concerned on the people in the front rows...sigh. Hey, at least I found you! -----GO NAVY----- smiley-wink RIC

Hi Cathy~thanks for writing back. Boy, you are brave! I'm not sure I could make such a move. I'm living in the same city that I grew up in. I've only lived out of town briefly, and still in the same state. I have two sisters who live in neighboring states, but I'd like to stay around here awhile, since my girls (10 and 11) are so close to my parents. My mom and dad have been great to the girls. They've provided experiences that my husband and I cannot afford. They recently took them on a trip to the White Mountains, here in NH, taking them to places like Storyland with all sorts of rides and things. My husband and I have always struggled financially, but now things are even more uncertain as we are both working "temp" jobs. I just keep trusting that somehow, God will bring us through these tough times. Mom and Dad are great, they've helped us out quite a bit. Mom says not to worry about it--we're just using our inheritance, now smiley-laughing .

It's quiet around the apartment at the moment. My husband is working 2nd shift, and the girls are away at camp. This is the first time they've been to camp, and it's an overnight (weeklong) camp. To top it off...it's out of state. They'll be home in a couple of days. It's just not the same without them. I actually accomplished a lot last night, and I had time for myself!

How old are your grandsons? Do you keep in touch over the internet? I recently "tracked down" a college roomate of mine. I haven't spoken to her in 21 years, but I found an old letter from a mutual friend who told me where she was working. I found their website, her page, and her web address. She lives in Iowa, by the way, and teaches at Buena Vista University. Is Clinton anywhere near there?

Well, I could go on and on. Hope to hear from you soon. Linda
